As I previously stated in the introduction, Wayne's plans for the Dayton III are complete, but you really can't go straight from them to inhaling MDF-dust and cutting yourself. Included on this page are all of the drawings you'll probably need to get moving down the path to self-mutilation -- and of course building the D3. These are the blueprints that I created while I was still in the planning phase. I've also posted Wayne's original crossover diagram. Just click the thumbnails to view a full resolution image. Keep in mind that these are hand drawn with pencil, so the scans aren't ideal. I've saved them as very low quality jpegs in order to save space, but additionally to maintain legibility. Also, be certain to note the scale in the lower left corner of each page.

The Front and Rear Baffles According to The Reverend (Mr. Jaeschke), the front baffle is by far the most crucial part of a speaker cabinet - so take extra care. My diagrams depict both the flush mounting recessions for the drivers and also the flare on the rear port. |

The Left and Right Sides The sides are fairly straight forward in their design. As pictured, I rounded the front edges of them with my 1/2" corner round bit. (Not Pictured: John Wayne) |

The Top and Bottom Quite arguably, these are the simplest parts of the whole project - Just four 8" x 12" rectangles. |

The Dayton III Crossover - By Wayne A brilliant solution to make the budget parts of the Dayton III sing as a choir of angels. This godsend will likely be wielded one day to solve the problems of world hunger and boy bands. |
